Witches, Women, Women, Witches
A Poem
Women’s bodies
Women’s ways
Healing throughout history
Birthing throughout history
They said it couldn’t be
They said it shouldn’t be
They said we couldn’t be
They said we shouldn’t be
Our bodies, our powers
Our bodies, our gifts
They’ve been trying to erase and replace us
For centuries now
Goddess carvings predate it all
Female bodies worshiped before it all
Witches/Women were doctors before it all
Witches/Women were healers before it all
You think you can twist words,
You think you can watch us burn
But no, we women, womb-an, womyn, witches
Were never good with silence and submission, were never good with being doormats
And what you don’t get about us, us women, us females, us girls is that
the flames are always always always at our heels.
